The Jewish Outdoors Club Presents
One Week Skiing in Park City, Deer Valley, and Canyons, Utah, Feb 17-24

Starts at $1095 includes all lodging, food, ground transportation

Check this out:

  • Were staying at a Best Western where we are taking over a big chunk of the place including all pool-side rooms. Every room reserved is a deluxe room with lots of space for 1, 2,or 3 people (prices varies depending on number people per room. See Q & A for specifics).
  • Large Pool, hot tub, billiards, ping pong, internet access, bar, laundry room, exercise equipment, daily maid service - all included.
  • Each room is a deluxe room and has bathroom, double vanity, coffee maker, cable tv, fridge/freezer. Beds are queens per person except for those sleeping 3 in a room, which has one roll-away bed.
  • Fully catered by Kosher Caterers from Salt Lake city. Meals in large private rented room. No shopping runs. No "toranut".
  • No cars needed - hotel shuttle takes us straight to Park City, Canyons and Deer Valley (all within 12 miles). There are no other stops on the shuttle bus.
  • Walking distance to shopping, nightlife.
We are able to price this trip very reasonably because:
A) The JOC has no marketing expenses - all publicity is word of mouth.
B) The JOC does not operate to make a profit
C) Lodging reservations and other arrangements were literally made a year in advance

So here are some other details in Q and A:

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

We are going to the heart of Utah Skiing, with Park City, The Canyons and Deer Valley all within 12 miles of us. Last year, as the Vail trip was coming to a close, I asked people were they would want to go next year. The most common response, by far, was Park City, Utah. We aim to please :)

WHAT IS THE COST BREAKDOWN?

An exact cost breakdown is in the attached registration form:
Basically it is as follows:

Early Bird:
Lodging/Food:
Roll-away bed in Room with 3 people total: $1095
Queen bed in room with 3 people total: $1195
Room with 2 people (Queen bed per person): $1395
Room to yourself (one King Bed): $1995

Our lodge is only 29 miles away from the airport, and free transportation from the airport will be arranged at set times during the day of arrival.

Lift Tickets: Range from $85 for two day lift to $190 for 5 day lift.  See the attached form.

WHAT IS THE LODGE LIKE?
The Best Western has a detailed website at
and an interactive video of the place is at:

In brief, it is a nice place with lots of amenities and space. It is a considerable step up from the typical JOC event accommodation. Please follow the links and see for yourself.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COMING?
There is room for about 40 people in total, depending on how whether people want 1, 2,or 3 per room.

IS THIS FOR SINGLES ONLY?
No! I anticipate that most attendees will be single, but couples are welcome, of course, and there are some rooms reserved with only a King bed. You are guaranteed not to be the only couple there.

WHAT IS THE FOOD GOING TO BE LIKE?
All food is fully catered from the Kosher caterers in Salt Lake City, with service included.

Sample breakfast: Bagels and lox, cereal, muffins, fruit.
Lunch: Make your own sandwich with the usual, including kosher cheese.
Sample Dinner: Sweet and sour chicken, rice, salad, mixed vegetables, dessert.

HOW WILL WE GET AROUND?
There is a free Best Western shuttle that takes you to all the resorts. There are no stops except the ski resorts, and no transfers are needed.  There is also a free local shuttle for local travel that stops right in front of the Best Western. As mentioned, I will also be arranging shuttles from the airport at various times on Sunday to shuttle you from the airport to our lodge, free of charge.

WHAT IF I NEED SKI/SNOWBOARD RENTAL?
You can rent locally or at the mountain

WHAT IF I WANT TO DO ANOTHER OUTDOOR ACTIVITY?
Local options include snowmobiling, heliskiing, ice skating, ice climbing, and more. You are on your own to organize such trips. Some night activities will be arranged.

WHAT IS THE RELIGIOUS LEVEL OF THE TRIP?
This trip is being organized as a Kosher, Shomer Shabbat trip, but people are welcome to come from across the religious spectrum, as the respect that you have for the observance of attendees both to the right and left of you is more important than how you label yourself.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Please fill out the registration form which is attached.
A $200 check reserves your spot for lodging and food. This amount is fully refundable until Dec 15.

WILL IT FILL UP?
Those who know about these things know that this is a pretty good deal, as well as a fun time with the JOC, and I anticipate that this trip will fill up, as did last years. My advice is to book early to guarantee your spot. After the spots get filled, I will create a wait list.

ANYTHING ELSE?
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at this address. Please do read this email and see the attachment carefully to make sure that your question wasn’t answered in this text. Please do not call me, as email is much more efficient for me.

Thanks, and hope to see you on the slopes!
