Details:
It is time to get the ski gear out of the closet and join JOC for our 5th annual ski trip!  JOC is planning an awesome ski trip from Saturday night, December 22nd through Tuesday, December 25th (there is an option to come up earlier).   We will be taking over the Gray Ghost Inn in Mt. Snow, Vermont (http://www.grayghostinn.com/) located just minutes away from the Mt. Snow ski resort (http://www.mountsnow.com/themountain.html) and Killington is about 1.5 hrs away.  The weekend will be fully catered starting with omelets made to order at breakfast, sandwiches for lunch & gourmet dinners each night. All meals are strictly kosher (fleishig meals are Glatt).

WHAT IS THE COST?

There are a variety of options based on length of stay, number of folks sharing the room and date of payment.

Payment If Received BY Wednesay 11/21:

Saturday night 12/22 -  Tuesday 12/25
Quad: 330 / Triple: 355/ Double: 385 / Single: 430
3 bedroom/2 bath Suite (sleeps 6):  385 each

Payment If Received AFTER Wednesay 11/21 (additional $45):

Saturday night 12/22 -  Tuesday 12/25
Quad: 375 / Triple: 400 / Double: 430 / Single: 475
3 bedroom/2 bath Suite (sleeps 6): 430 each

There are only a couple of quad rooms available, and three triples have bunk beds - so reserve early to get your choice of accommodations.

If you are interested in starting your getaway weekend on Thursday or Friday you can pay an additional $60 per night.  This price DOES NOT include any meals Thurs – Shabbat.  Depending on the number of people interested in this option we would arrange those meals for an additional cost.

The first fully catered meal is breakfast on Sunday.  Thurs/Fri stay requires registering for Sat night - Tues.

Cost includes the stay at the inn through Tuesday afternoon, housekeeping gratuities and all meals / snacks from professional caterers  (I promise that you will not go hungry!). There are additional costs for lift tickets and ski rentals. Group rates available from Mt. Snow.

WHAT ARE THE ACCOMMODATIONS LIKE?

First off there is an outdoor hot tub & sauna – perfect after a day of skiing.  The rooms are cozy, each with it’s own bathroom.  There is a large game room with pool and ping pong tables, and a huge lounge area where the couches are circled around a great fireplace.

HOW DOES THE TRANSPORTATION WORK?

I will put together a spreadsheet with the names of everyone going and will list the drivers. In due time, I will send out that spreadsheet to attendees, and it will be your responsibility to call and find a ride.  To make sure that we have enough cars I will need to sign up at least 17 drivers (with the majority willing to leave from the UWS) & at some point may have to hold registration for passengers until we have enough drivers.  Passengers: You will be asked to reimburse your drivers for gas and tolls (approx. $25 per passenger depending on point of origin).

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE AGE AND GENDER?

The genders are usually about split. The ages range from mid 20s to early 40s.  The great majority of attendees are single, but some are married. Please note that this is not a singles event (although we do have some marriages to our credit)!  Additionally, many attendees will be first timers, so dont be timid if you are a newcomer - we are a fun and welcoming group :)

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

1) Please fill out the registration form at: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/80408504

2) I will confirm that the rooming arrangement you have requested is available & will ask you to send the paypal payment to:  ski_joc@yahoo.com

Sending me an e-mail saying “sign me up” is not sufficient to reserve a spot.  In order to be signed up your registration form & paypal payment must be received (sorry – no checks).  There is no charge to set up a paypal account and you can link it to a credit card or checking account.

Registration will be closed as of Monday, December 17th.  We can accommodate approximately 50 people, and the ski trips always fill up, so sign up early!  Please note – the inn is only open to registered JOC guests for the weekend.  Also, once we fill up we can’t accommodate additional guests for the meals.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

The deadline for a full refund is Wednesday, November 14th. After that, you will have to find someone (of the same gender) to take your place, and that person should pay you directly.  If I get emails from folks looking for a spot, I will send them your way.

Any questions?  Please e-mail me at ski_joc@yahoo.com.

Look forward to seeing you on the slopes!

-  Bonnie

PS: This just in from the Farmers almanac...

"With heavy snow predicted for much of the season, and average temperatures up to 3 degrees colder than normal, Vermont, and nearby resorts in New Hampshire and Maine, will be the place to be this winter. Across New England and the Mid Atlantic, heavy snow in early December and over Christmas will be perfect for skiing holidays. Cold temperatures and light flurries throughout the next few months, coupled several days of heavy snowfall at the end of January, should keep the slopes covered with the white stuff throughout the season."
