Snowtubing

The fourth annual JOC snowtubing party is scheduled for Sunday Evening Feb
29 at Mountain Creek, NJ. Yay!

We will leave the New York area by prearranged carpools and head to Vernon,
NJ, about 1 hour from the GW Bridge, for a 2 hour snowtubing session from
6:30- 8:30 pm.  There, we will enjoy their snowtubing park, with its 7 lanes
of varying speed runs. There will also be light
refreshments offered in the nearby lodge such as chips, beer, nash, and some
healthy stuff too.  The cost of the trip is $25 which includes
tubes, food, and a great time, but not reimbursing drivers, which should be
around $6 a person paid straight to your driver.

As usual, this is quite a deal - if you went on your own to Mountain Creek,
the cost of snowtubing for 2 hours would be $28 (and $5 more for beer :)  )

For three year's running, this event has filled up with 60-70 people each
time.
Don't be shut out of this year's event!

Here are all the details:

FROM WHERE/WHEN DO WE LEAVE?
Individuals will leave from the NY metro area at varying times, arriving
before 6:30 pm when our session begins.  When
you sign up, I will add your name to a spreadsheet.  As the date approaches,
I will email to attendees a list of everyone coming and who has cars
leaving from where at what time.  You will then arrange a ride on your own.
This is how
we have run transportation for many past events with great success.

WHAT IS THE TUBING LIKE?
The tubing largely depends on weather conditions.  Last year, it was a
cold day, and icy runs made for a wild time. More slushy conditions will
make the runs more tame, but make snowballs easier to make.
Either way, a good time is pretty much guaranteed!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
If you have ski pants, that's your best bet.  Otherwise, wear whatever
it is that is most resistant to water.  Layer up since it will likely be
cold, but if you get too cold, you can always take a break and go inside.

IS THIS FOR SINGLES ONLY?
Absolutely not. In past years, it has been predominantly single, but I
hesitate to call this a singles event, if for no other reason, it is just a
stinky label to attach to a fun event open to all.
I like to think of it as a bunch of people who are getting together for a
good time.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?
I have no deadline per se, but I don't recommend waiting too long
since the trip filled up in past years when JOC had half the number of
members it now has.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

I have 53 spots for this trip, and can add to make room for 75 total with
enough notice. In order to guarantee a spot, please email me
that you are coming, telling me your name and phone number and pay the $25
by one of two methods.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS MY PAYPAL INFO HAS CHANGED!!

BEST:  Set up an account with paypal (www.paypal.com) and use your account
to pay sheriandalon@optonline.net . If you are paying with paypal by credit
card, you can instead pay jewishoutdoorsclub@yahoo.com, but please add $2 to
cover paypal fees if you are emailing this account.
(The first account is not set up to accept credit cards, but does not charge
me, so
it is preferred)

ALSO OK:  write out a check and mail to:
Alon Krausz
508 Wyndham Rd
Teaneck, NJ 07666

I can only sign you up once I have received payment -an email alone is not
enough to book your spot! The email is just to
give me an idea of our numbers.

Please note that in the event of inclement weather, the trip is postponed to
a future date to be decided.
I will make this decision by Sunday morning, the
day of the trip.  Check your email!!
If you don't hear from me, assume we are on.

Cancellations will be accepted up to 2 weeks before the trip for a full
refund, which is Sunday, February 15.  After that, I cannot offer a refund,
but
you can find someone else to take your place and deal with the reimbursement
on your own with that person.

Hope to see you all there!!!
